1. Silent Running: Collector's Edition [Blu-Ray] (1971)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Admirable in spirit but dull in execution, Silent Running tells a cautionary tale that almost totally fails to engage. The plodding piece possesses some intriguing concepts, but the result seems lifeless and bland. Starring Bruce Dern, Ron Rifkin. Arrow, $39.95, 11/17/2020.

3. The King Of Marvin Gardens: America Lost and Found - The BBS Story (Criterion Collection) [Blu-R
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: I didn't dislike The King Of Marvin Gardens but I thought it was a fairly bland and pointless character piece. The Blu-ray provides pretty good picture, average sound and a few interesting supplements. While there are worse films you could see, I think this one's for die-hard Nicholson fans only. Starring Jack Nicholson, Bruce Dern. Criterion, $124.95, 1

4. Family Plot [4K UHD] (1976)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: A great career came to an end with Family Plot, the final film from Alfred Hitchcock. While he did not go out on top, he did end things with a pretty good effort, as Plot became arguably his best flick since The Birds. Starring Bruce Dern, Barbara Harris. Universal, $29.98, 5/10/2022.

While he didn’t go out on top, he did end things with a pretty good effort, as Plot was arguably his best flick since 1963’s The Birds. The DVD suffers from spotty picture but it offers good audio and the usual allotment of interesting supplements. I wish the transfer looked b

7. Freaks [Blu-Ray] (2019)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: As a sci-fi based thriller, Freaks shows promise, and at its worst, it remains reasonably involving. However, it loses steam as it goes and can’t sustain our attention as well as the first act allows up to hope it will. Starring Emile Hirsch, Bruce Dern. Well Go, $14.98, 12/10/2019.

8. Black Sunday [Blu-Ray] (1977)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: At its heart, Black Sunday features an intriguing plot, and given the state of world affairs, it should offer a chilling and exciting examination of its topic. Unfortunately, the movie presents a silly and disjointed affair that takes forever to progress and never becomes tense or compelling. Starring Robert Shaw, Bruce Dern. Arrow, $39.95, 3/28/2023.

9. Nebraska [Blu-Ray] (2013)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: A generally good character piece, Nebraska only falters when compared to its director’s prior superior films. On its own, the movie works pretty well, though it lacks the impact I think it needs to elevate to a higher level. The Blu-ray comes with very good picture, decent audio and one informative bonus feature. Ultimately we find a quality release for
